In this crossing exercise two teams play with two goalkeepers on half of a full pitch. There are 3 attacking players and 2 defending players on each team positioned at half way. The ball is thrown by the goalkeeper into space, for the attacking player in zone A to attack and cross the ball.
The players crossing the ball in side zones A and B cannot be tackled. The three attacking players feint and cut back to deceive the two defending players and attack the crossed ball and go for goal.
If a goal is scored from the crossed ball then that team gains a point.
After the strike at goal, the conditioned crossing exercise from the side zones continues from zone B.
These crosses should be practised from both the left and right sides.
The following is an example of a playing pattern in attack – crosses from the right side of the side zones.
End the second half of the team technical-tactical playing pattern in attack of crosses from the side zones with a game with full pressure and with free expression to see how the pattern is being executed. Remember the basic direction in coaching a coach should take is: exercise, game, correction.
